I finished Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy a couple of weeks ago and I still have some words to share from this novel.

zenith - noun. 1.  The point of the heavens directly above the observer.
2. Of the highest point.
" [...] a zenithal paradise."

nadir - noun. 1. The point of the heavens directly under the observer.
2. The lowest point, the state or time of greatest depression.
"[...] a nadiral hell."

sedulously - adv. Diligent and persevering.
"[...] they sedulously followed suit without any personal objection."

prestidigitation - noun. conjuring trick performed as entertainment.
"My God - how can forgiveness meet such a grotesque - prestidigitation as that!"
