It's A Wrap - End of Month Round Up

Well!  Hasn't it been a fab September weather-wise?  Warm, dry, a real Indian summer.  Tomorrow we move into October and it is steady downhill towards the C word, dare I say Christmas.  Yes, mince pies are already in the stores!  Before we hear Christmas carols we have Halloween to end the month of October.  I shall be buying pumpkins but mainly for soup, I may make a lantern out of one or two.  I think the teen will be going to some parties and will do something arty with her pumpkin and costume.

It has been a little busier on the blog here this month.  I am still decidedly lacking in reviews but I have joined in with some memes although I post on Saturday Snapshot via my photography blog JanHanPhoto on Wordpress.

Discussion Post
To Share or Not to Share (That is the Question)?
This post did not generate as much traffic as I would have liked but I did get some responses.  Basically, I discussed etiquette with regard to where it may be acceptable to share other people's posts.  I also mentioned about remembering to thank those who have taken the time to mention or share the posts.

Sunday Post
I have managed to keep up with this meme regularly.  I am hoping that I will be able to continue participating, I like reading other people's news both on and off the blogs.

Wondrous Words Wednesday
This month I have been posting some interesting words I came across in Tess of the D'Urbervilles.

I gave away a PreLoved copy of The Englishman - Helena Halme.  The winner was Lainy from So many books, so little time.

Blog Award
I was a lucky recipient of the One Lovely Blog Award which I received from Sharon at Sharon's Book Nook.

New Arrivals
I won some swag from a give-away on Twitter.  I received a copy of The Supreme Macaroni Company - Adriana Trigliani complete with Hipster diary, bag and postcard.  I managed to get a copy of A Place of Execution - Val McDermid through a seller on Rakuten Play.com.

I made 16 posts during September, my stats are improving.  There were no losers in any of my reads this month.  I am still catching up on my TBR reads and I think this will take me a while to actually clear the shelves.  I am still not able to take on any review requests for the foreseeable future.

Plans for October
I am currently reading A Place of Execution - Val McDermid for book group.   My next choice will be from the book jar.  I have more poems to share with you and new words to bring to WWW.  The intention is to try and make regular contributions to the Sunday Post and find an interesting topic to discuss with you.  I hope to post some reviews and I am going to host a PreLoved give-away this month before Halloween.  Due to the fairly high postage costs over here I can only manage one of these give-aways a month and for UK residents only.  Watch this space!

How was your month in books?
