I am currently reading Started Early, Took My Dog - Kate Atkinson and have found some interesting words here.
wampum - noun. strings of shell-beads formerly used by North American Indians for money or ornament.
"The kid looked up from her wampum...".
inchoate - adj. undeveloped; just begun.
"an inchoate sound in the dark."
priapic - adj. relating to or resembling a phallus; relating to male sexuality and sexual activity; medicine - (of a man) having a persistently erect penis.
"He had not thought of himself as priapic."
kvetch - verb. complain persistently
"when they smoked fly cigarettes and kvetched about their poor working conditions."
