Book Review: Dark Horse: How challenger Companies Rise to Prominence - Dan Mack

SynopsisIn Dark Horse: How Challenger Companies Rise To Prominence, business veteran Dan Mack takes you inside the minds, hearts, and boardrooms of dark horse companies who winning big despite having the odds stacked against them. From the beloved Wiffle ball and bat to the highly stylized line of Method soap, and PURELL hand sanitizer, there is no shortage of dark horse companies to root for in the American business race today.  (Taken from Goodreads)

Review - If you run a smaller business that is trying to stay out there amongst the big boys, then this is the book for you.  In fact, a useful guide for any sales company but it is aimed at the 'Dark Horses'.  The smaller or lesser known companies who wish to succeed or have a chance at getting those large sales and maintaining their status amongst the competition.

We are given examples of how these lesser known brands keep in touch with their customers needs, how they run their companies, their philosophies, how they look after their employees and how charitable they are in what they can do to help where there is need.  And how they managed to beat the big boys or at least keep their product on the shelves.  The author provides a series of questions at the end of each chapter that the readers can ask themselves.  These questions are prompts to get the reader thinking about ways they can improve their businesses.

A good guide for all businesses.  4*
