Book Review: Falstaff's Big Gamble - Hank Quense

Synopsis - This story combines the plots and characters of Shakespeare's Othello and Hamlet and is set in Gundarland.  Hamlet is now a dwarf, Othello a dark elf and Falstaff (Henry IV) a jolly human rogue.  (Taken from Strange Worlds Online)

Review - I received a copy of this book by author request for a review.  Hank Quense's latest is a spoof/parody of Shakespeare taking key characters from Hamlet and Othello, also Falstaff from Henry IV.  The cast are mainly dwarves and elves.  A typical story from Mr Quense showing his particular style of humour and set in the fantasy land of Gundarland.  The story takes place in Dun Hythe and Denmarko and the characters are: Hamlet, his father's ghost, his mother Gertie, stepfather Clodio and his stepfather's spies Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.  We also have Othello, Desdemona, Iage and Emilia and the not so loveable rogue Falstaff.

All great fun, particularly if you like Hank Quense's quirky style of writing.  Unfortunately, my copy had a fair amount of typos both spelling and grammatical but I understand that the book is still going through the final stages of editing.  3*
