Book Review - Paradox: The Angels Are Here (Book 1) by Patti Roberts

SynopsisNine hundred years ago, I died...
A little girl's world is turned upside down by a visitor, the Angel of Death.  She finds herself trapped in a nightmare, consumed by her paralyzing loss and overwhelming grief.  The haunting visions and untimely deaths of others are a constant reminder that life and death are only a heartbeat away.
A journey crossing Two Worlds.  One Ancient - One New.
Where lives are bound by blood - and nothing is as it seems.  In a World where there are more questions than answers.  (Taken from Goodreads)

Review -  This is YA with a difference, although my YA reading isn't very wide yet.  I liked the start of the book where the evil are truly evil!  In the 'real' world we are treated to a life which tackles a wide range of emotions and in that sense makes a good YA read.  A mix of real and 'other worldly' woven together.  We get glimpses into our young central character's past life with some true historical facts thrown in to make interesting reading.  It's a gripping read which will keep you on your toes.  Well rounded characterisations with some asking the question which side are they really on?  Book 2 Paradox - Progeny Of Innocence is out this month and I cannot wait to see how the series develops.  3*
